At Refugee Project Maastricht, people from different backgrounds come together to learn, share and enjoy time with one another. Whether you’re new to Maastricht or have lived here for years, there’s a place for you in our community.
Our five programmes offer different ways to take part. Practise a language, join a Culture Café, play sports, make music or help create space for more voices to be heard. You can come to try something new, share a skill of your own, or simply meet people. That’s how we make Maastricht feel more like home—together.

Languages
LEARN · PRACTISE · CONNECT
A language is easier to learn when you have people to practice with. Come learn Dutch, English or Arabic. From a structured lesson to a relaxed place to talk. You can come to learn, practice, teach—or do a bit of each.
Community
MEET · SHARE · BELONG
Community grows when people have the chance to spend time together. We organize Culture Cafés, Women’s Café and a Rainbow Café. You might arrive for an activity and leave having made a friend.
Youth
PLAY · GROW · MAKE FRIENDS
Children and teenagers need places where they can have fun, make friends and be themselves. We organize a teenage girls’ group, children’s birthday celebrations, football and karate.
Advocacy
LISTEN · LEARN · SPEAK UP
Through the RPM Academy, events, research, our podcast and community ambassadors, we make room for people to share knowledge and perspectives on their own terms and share this with a wider audience.
Wellbeing
MOVE · CREATE · RECHARGE
Feeling good is about more than staying active. A hike, a bouldering session, a guitar lesson or a creative afternoon can offer a break from everyday worries and a chance to connect with others.
